So it is official as of this last Monday- we're homeowners! It all feels a little bit surreal still. Life this week is a blur of packing, picking out paint colors (so so hard to find the perfect shade of off-white), and a bazillion other random things that require us to make runs to Home Depot. I am so anxious to just get in there and live life there and make it our home. Only a few more days!
For now, here are a few sneak peaks of our little house. The lighting in them is terrible, but at least it will give you an idea of what it looks like. Just try to picture everything with a fresh coat of paint on it- everything is pretty grungy right now. Still, grungy and all, this house makes me so happy. It is so us.
The living room:
Curtains have to go ASAP. Love love love the hardwood floors!
Dining area:
I am in love with the built-in shelf.
Kitchen:
One of the top things on my priority list is painting the cupboards a happy, bright shade of white and replacing all the hardware. Eventually it would be awesome to replace the counter-tops and floor, but for now the cupboards are a must.
Another view...
So grateful for the door to the backyard from the kitchen and the big window looking out! Such an answer to prayer. Being a mama of a super active little boy who could live outside 24/7 if I let him, they are a dream come true!
The backyard:
The previous owners left the swing set for us- the kids are so excited !
Elliot is probably the most excited about the garage- he shows it off to everyone who visits and calls it his "work".
Hoping to someday put a little vegetable/flower garden over here. Not going to even try this summer- way too much settling in the house to do- but I have my hopes for next year.
The hallway/built-in:
Have I mentioned how much I love built-ins? I really really love them. Here's a close-up:
The bathroom:
The bedrooms:
The downstairs:
This family/play room was not on our "necessity" list in looking for a home, but I am so grateful for it now!
Future homeschool classroom? Or at the very least, a craft room for all!
I am pretty sure my dear husband has claimed this extra non-egress bedroom as his own little well-deserved space/office.
Laundry/pantry/storage room. Someday all this concrete will be painted. I'm thinking a nice shade of robins egg blue, but I am not sure Erik will go for that!
Geesh. I think my "sneak peek" turned into a complete house tour. So here it is. Our future home sweet home. So so excited for all the memories that will be made here between these walls.
